YEAST GO AWAY~ Arrowroot Baby Powder?

Yes, that title deserved all caps.  This week I went out to purchase baby powder without cornstarch in it (since this feeds the yeast) not realizing that my options were very limited if I also wanted a non-talc version AND non-cornstarch version.  Apparently there are a few alternatives at health food stores and also online but I needed something available to me right away.  All of the options on Amazon had pretty good reviews, but were not offered on Amazon Prime.  I found them on Vitacost priced on sale for approximately $6 each.  I like Vitacost, we order my older son's vitamins off the site, but I didn't need to purchase $49 to qualify for free shipping so I decided to try to see if I could recreate the powder myself.

Country Comfort Baby Powder

Nature's Baby Organics Silky Dusting Powder Fragrance Free

Redmond Trading Company Baby Powder
I was happy to find that the main ingredient in the Country Comfort version is arrowroot because I have an entire bag wasting away in my fridge back from the days of an attempted gluten free diet. I found this recipe on wellnessmama.com

I've emptied a spice jar and trying with 1/4 cup of arrowroot powder.  Unfortunately I don't keep chamomile or calendula flowers handy so there won't be any of that added.  I'm guessing that it's just for a sweet smell but I could be wrong. Hopefully this powder will help keep him dry.  I am really at my wits end about what to do with these rashes.  I'm going to try this and probiotics tomorrow and hopefully have good news in an update.

**Update:  Well I was hoping to report good news and yesterday it was good but now it's back.  I hit the rash with everything (bleach, grapefruit seed extract, air, prescription cream) but this morning it's back.  I thought I was seeing a difference when just using microfibers (bumGenius, Kawaii, and Fuzzibunz) but had to use a natural fiber last night because the others were dirty.  Is it possible that the rash is being brought out from natural fibers?  I notice that they seem to get wet quicker. Has anyone else had this problem and/or found a solution?
**Another Update:  This morning after a night in a Kawaii  with Arrowroot Powder and Grandma El's Diaper Rash Remedy  he is rash free!  I hope it stays that way!
